Hi,
Many years ago I bought a couple of battery powered wired Remote Contol P and T heads from Jessops I think about 80 pounds each. For what I wanted they were perfect. Dismantled, changed power supply and weatherproofed did sterling sevice in old buildings etc. Now appear to be unobtainable.
Does anyone know of anywhere to buy something similar nowadays ?
Has to carry a maximum Canon 1 series plus 70-200mm lens but more usually a 50mm.

Might be overkill for what you want, but you could have a look at the Gigapan kit.
 
The acuter merlin though larger is more versatile and can also be programmed to trigger the shutter on canon camera's.

Must admit never realised there were so many available. Interesting link about the Merlin one though. I usually just use mine to move camera slowly left or right also have a little nest-box camera (removed from nest-box ! )
on plate next to still camera linked to laptop to see what is happening, goes from colour to B/W at night. Nest-boxes with camera from Aldi £39-95
cheapest way of getting one I think.
