Beginner Elements 11 lost tools ?

Im hoping someone can help with this simple problem of missing tools ?

Im running elements 11 for editing my shots, i dont know whats happened but in expert option i have lost all the tools from down the left side of the screen, i can still select an image but all i can do is crop it, theres no tool available to do anything ?

It must be something simple i have done but cant find out how to correct it.

Bingo, thanks very much, i thought it had to be something very simple :) (not just me)
 
However, there ARE missing features from later Elements. I use PSE6 which has something called the Magic Extractor, which is a fast and simple way to extract even quite complex objects from a layer. Unfortunately it went in one of the later versions.
