Elements 6 Not installing (mac)

I downloaded photoshop elements 6 last night but when it came to install it through the setup, it came up with:

JavaScript Alert

Critical errors were found in setup
- Incompatible payloads already installed
Please see the Setup log file for details.

Im searching the adobe website but thought I would ask here just in case anyone knows a fast solution. :bonk:

What does the "Setup log file" say, devitt?

Im not sure even how to find it out. I have looked on the net and it looks like it is due to the fact its conflicting with the trial software? But how do I uninstall this as I deleted at a while back but apparently there are still file traces left.
