Hi all. I purchased the elinchrom d-lite 4 kit which are brilliant. However, setting them up last night I was just putting one of the metal rods into the corner of the soft box and it poked its way through the other side. I obviously have the option to stitch the corner myself but if I wanted a replacement do you know where I can find them as I can't seem to find any for spares?

No warranty? I'd probably try The Flash Centre first but there are plenty of Elinchrom retailers around. Failing that, you could contact Elinchrom direct in Switzerland.

If they're new, and you haven't been a total dunce, I'd try warranty. Those things can rip if they're not machined exactly right around the corners.

Your retailer or The Flash Centre. TFC is both retailer and importer, and in fact the same Whittle family actually owns Elinchrom.

Poor you! Those soft-boxes are supposed to be 'collapsible' but it too me so long to put them together that they stay expanded. I hope you get it fixed.

LOL My thoughts exactly. You should try a basic octobox - like trying to nail down a figgin octopus. I hate them.

Easiest softboxes I've tried are the Lencarta Profolders - they just push up like an umbrella, cheap too. Wonderful  though there are others similar (eg Bessel) and Elinchrom's Rotaluxes are pretty good too

I have sent an email to the company i purchased them from for any ideas they can suggest. They came with a broken handle and they sent me two replacements the following day so Im keeping my fingers crossed.

I should contact first your supplying dealer but The Flash centre will also look after you --- they are as others have said, the UK importers, and they will be concerned to do a good job for you.

As for assembly, I have set these up many times and, whilst there is a trick, mine were not hard to do.

Mine came with instructions. Put the rod behind the ring (where the notch is shallower) and a photographic equivalent of the Scandinavian Flick will slot each rod straight in to it's socket.

As Hoppy says, Elicnrom's Rotalux are incredibly fast to assemble, come in their own bag but take up a little room. The Portalite's are the most portable, but take a little longer to assemble ...
