Elinchrom Skyport

Hi all,

I've got 3x Elinchrom studio heads but i'm feeling the need to upgrade to some wireless triggers, i'd like to get the elinchrom skyport system but it doesn't look like is plugs straight into the back of mine (being slightly older heads). Elinchrom do an adapter so my question is: if I get the adapter (I take it that just fits in the standard sync lead connector socket) will i then be able to use skyport on my heads?

no, that adapter allows the RX Transceiver to be used on the Elinchrom Ranger socket which has an extra pin for charging.

You can use the Elinchrom Skyport Universal receiver on your heads and it comes with the correct cables. But, it will only fire the heads.

Your heads cannot utilise the power control function in Skyport, they just don't have the hardware in them.

That looks very like an amphenol socket.

Skyports should have a cable in the pack. If they don't or you want to use another trigger you'll want something like this http://www.aj-s.co.uk/shop/product.php?ProductID=491

As JonathanRyan says, you get one of those cables with each receiver - big, gold thing that I just stuck back in the box when i bought mine.
