Ok I already have an email account which I am paying for, Which I hate, with fasthosts. I now want to register a new domain name and set up an email account. I'm not sure who to use. my current one darren@freedomlightphotography.co.uk is a bit too long winded and bloated. I'm going to go for something a bit more snappy.

Its currently an exchange account, but I'm not really getting on with it to be honest.

I'm looking at 123-reg which offers a simple webmail account for 99p a month. Just would like a bit of guidence with this. I would like to use Outlook to manage the emails, but also to be able to access the emails online too and possibly on my mobile.

Any recommended services?

Have you had a look at Google Apps? It's free and you can use either webmail or local client to manage it.

I'm with 123-reg, I'd advise taking one of their hosting packages - £2.49 a month gets you 100mb of webspace and 15 email accounts, rather than paying 99p for one. Even if you only used three of the email accounts and nothing else it would still work out far better value...

I'm very happy with my domains from Domain Monster and hosting from Just Host who give you unlimited everything. A little bit of work to set everything up but I'm comfortable with that. Looks like Just Host have a decent offer on their from page just now, check them out.

Bad experience.

A friend of mine had a hosting package with them, was a nightmare, always slow, kept crashing, and it didn't support PHP - pretty standard, even a few years ago. Support was very poor, when you opened a support ticket, took them two days sometimes to respond, and when they did it was a canned email that didn't answer the actual question that'd been asked.
