Hello all,
I have a private email account which uses my website domain and in the last couple of days I have 'subscribed' to www.softstiff.com newsletter, which annoyingly arrives a couple of times a day.
At the bottom of the email it informs me that I am subscribed and says click here to unsubscribe.
Clicking unsubscribe takes to you a different domain which asks you to enter your email address, twice, which with mine it rejects saying that it is an invalid email format. It then asks you to enter a 'protection code' which doesnt show up, even in different browsers.
Its becoming quite annoying seeing as it arrives to my computer and 2 different phones quite often trying to get me to buy software.
The website states the company is based in Austin, TX but a who.is of the domain is pointing towards China.
I emailed the support team telling them to please remove me from the list as there is a mistake and I cant unsubscribe only to get a very strange 'failed' message back with lots of information and a message saying "Hi. This is the qmail-send program at 64.mail-out.ovh.net.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out."
*alarm bells*
or am I being paranoid, what's best to do get off of their email list when I cant seem to contact them.
Many thanks
