My youngest lad has just emptied stuff into his recycle bin and then emptied the recycle bin to clear space. Now turns out he put the wrong file in his bin:bang: is there any software or any way he can recover what he deleted.

I downloaded one called pandora a few months ago, had deleted stuff that was a wrong folder and it didnt even go to the recycle bin, it was too big. Panodroa recovered the whole lot unblemished!

THere are several free programs though, a forum search will probably find you several recommendations.

try http://www.piriform.com/recuva

saved quite a bit of bacon, that little tool. works with corrupt memory sticks and and digital camera cards too - just format them and run the recovery, and it will usually get everything back.

good luck finding your file. don't leave it too long though as the more you use the disk which contained the deleted file, the lower the chances of recovery.

Don't download any big files.
Windows just flags areas of the hard drive to overwrite.
Good luck in your quest.

there is another one called "GET DATA BACK" comes in ntfs and fat variants.
