hi guys
was just wondering what kind of standby life i should expect to see from my batterys
i've left my camera fully charged & picked it up a week later with no problem, this was the same for the 2 i had in the grip
this obviously led me to believe that they had a very low self discharge rate & that if left charged i would be ready to shoot at a moments notice
well yesterday after a dismal days rain there appeared to be a nice richly red sunset developing so i drove home quick, grabbed my bag jumped back in the car & quickly drove to the closest place i could see a reasonable amount of sky from. in this case the Aviator hotel car park looking out towards Farnborough airfield. whipped my D200 out & dead, noticed the switch had either been knocked into or left in the on position i though thats ok, the grips ready to go. screwed it on jumped out & :shake:
same as
tbh i'd missed the best of it driving & getting my bag etc but it was pretty disappointing. whipped out my LX3 but as it was getting a bit dark then & i'd missed the best of it the smudged noisy pics from that only served to rub it in a bit :bang:
so how long can you reasonably expect them to last?
is it better to store them out of the body/grip?
i know the obvious answer is to use my camera more & it'll always be ready to go but sometimes it might get left for a week or two
