Energizer batteries

Does anyone have experience with these batteries. Just bought an LP-E4 version for my 1D MkIV. When I put it in the charger all the LED lights alternately flash red and green. In the manual it tells you to take the battery to a dealer if this happens.

The battery doesn't slide into the charger like the canon batteries, you have to lift it slightly for the pins to engage.

And to cap it all it won't fit in the camera. The pins seem to be misaligned.

I have e-mailed the seller but it looks as if these batteries are not fit for purpose.

I have previously only bought canon or Hahnel batteries and had no problems. Thought I would give one of these a try after reading various posts regarding third party batteries.

I guess it's a case of you get what you pay for. In this case a completely useless item.

I've used energiser batteries previously for my body - BP-511 and friends 450d batteries and had no problems with them.

Looks like you've been unlucky - maybe worth a swap for a new one ?

Hope the seller responds quickly - where did you buy it from ?

Bought it from a seller on e bay. Over 137000 transactions with very high positive feedback.

Have managed to get it charging on a third party charger but it was very tight going onto the pins. Just wondering if expecting it to slide in as easily as the original is too much. Cant afford to risk bending a pin in the battery compartment.

Glad you've got it charging.

No don't think you're asking too much - I would have thought it would be as / nearly as easy to use.

Couldn't be the Canon charger is chipped and its not recognising the battery as it isn't ??? - with regards to the red / green flashing light ?

Just browsing the net and reading reports of these batteries being a tight fit in the camera.

Hahnel battery charges in the original charger ok but then they are twice the price so maybe it is a chip issue.

Maybe getting it into the other charger will sort the pins out. Certainly went into the charger easier the second time. Sounds a bit heavy handed I know but I approached it in a very methodical manner. Just engaged the pins and gave it a whack. if it works then I'll be happy. Will see what the seller has to say.
