Eos 1dMkii + Eos Viewer Utility..

Having abit of a problem with the above..basically on my 1d theres alot of personal functions i cant setup unless i do it through eos viewer utility..if i plug it in via usb, it doesnt even see the camera..if i do it through firewire, it recognises the camera, but as soon as i click on camera settings it says it cant connect..?

Im on mac running snow leopard..

Any ideas anyone?
