Hi All,

My first post having joined tonight!

I have an EOS 50D and used it recently at a training seminar with the new PocketWizard TT series wireless flash transmitter. It worked a bit but most of the time did not trigger the studio lights. Some other people seemed to have similar problems so wondered if it was a firmware issue with the new TT range as it was only just out. It was suggested that I had a problem with my hotshoe and should get it checked out by canon.

I haven't had any problems with my 580 or 430 speedlights and didn't have any problems with my 50D using some other types of wireless transmitters either.

However - today doing a studio shoot I had a number of "fails" with the hotshoe mounted trigger that I currently own (a 2 channel DC-Mettle derivative marketed by Interfit. I only put new batteries in the transmitter and receiver units yesterday.

Just wondered if anyone else has had any issues with the EOS 50D hotshoe or maybe its just coincidence with the failures I've experienced...?

(Long term plan is to get the BXRi lights with built in Skyports and also get another skyport for my existing kit).

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Chris

Nope

Nope my 50 is fine - Metz 58, Canon 580 EX2 and Calumet wireless triggers...

Never had a miss-fire on mine using Speedlights or wireless trigger.

Thanks Guys. Still think it's more likely to be a trigger issue. Will see how it goes. Still got some months left on the warranty so no urgency there. As said never had an issue with the speelights. May also be related to having transmitter too close to receiver when doing some studio work in small rooms/confined spaces.

No problem on mine with 580 ex2, ST-E2, studio lights wireless trigger or Flash In the Pan's wireless triggers. All work OK for me.
