Hi all

Hopefully someone can help me out. I'm not sure if I'm understanding something with the EOS Utility and setting up a timelapse. Apologies if I'm in the wrong place.

I'm planning a time lapse for Christmas dinner this year, camera up high in the corner of the room, tethered to the laptop, running EOS utility for a timelapse. Planning on a shot every 6 seconds, thinking dinner is likely to be about 90 minutes, so from start, to where the table has been cleared. I know the first field is the shot interval (the 6 seconds), the second field is the duration to run it... but I'm unsure about the third field? Do I have to define how many shots in total that one every 6 seconds for 90 minutes will be? I know, simple math, but is that the purpose of that field? Also, if things aren't 90 minutes, I assume I can cancel it? And one more question, battery power - Should I be considering hooking the camera up to mains? Or do you think my battery (fully charged) is going to be able to handle it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers in advance!

Try this Bethy:

You're looking at 900 shots- which for me would probably be 3 batteries worth- so I'd definitely go for mains power.
