Newish Transcend x133 16GB card but not sure if that is the issue.

Get the above message and can view in lightroom but not edit. Cannot open in P/shop CS5. Can view on camera.

Occurs with ocassional shop - 1 in 30 say? Any ideas?

Never had this, I can only suggest process of elimination.

I'd be trying another card to rule out a faulty flash card (you are formating the card before use in camera?), if the fault repeats....

Rule out the transfer to PC by putting images on a friends PC using their card reader...

If it still does it, try the card in another camera.

I suspect its the card though.
 
Yup I get the same with Transcend cards in my 5D2

Carp cards sadly. I now only buy Sadnisk and get no problems. Although saying that I've just got a 16gb Kingston and that seems okay.
 
How odd. I've used transcend cards for years and never had any bother with them. Famous last words :D

Kingston are good though. Think my CF card is one of theirs.

Do you take the card out and use a card reader or do you read from the camera with a usb lead? I'd try the other way and see if it is any different.
 
Sandisk or Lexar, end of basically. I won't touch anything else.
 
I started getting this problem when using the exact same combination.

After a little experimenting I found it happened if I kept turning my camera on and off.

If I leave it on constantly while shooting I don't get these errors.
 
As a trainer I get to experience hundreds of cameras a year and have seen several card failures. Transcend is the brand that most comes to mind when this happens.

I agree with previous poster, stick to Sandisk or Lexar. I've not seen either fail, yet.

- I always download from Camera using DPP and erase old pics in camera using "format".

- have just filled a 8GB Sandisk 30MB/s card and there were no errors. Didn't switch off camera or erase any images as I filled card with hundreds of "snaps".

- now trying card that gave probs again the same way.

I've been using a pair of Transcend 32GB 133X cards since October 2009 in my 50D, 1D3, 7D and 5D2. I've never had a problem, never lost a shot and video has worked perfectly well too with the 7D and 5D2 on the odd occasion that I've tried it. I also use a 16GB Transcend SD card in the 1D3 and an 8GB in my compact camera. Still no problems.

The accounts I've read of failures with Transcend cards can be counted on the fingers of one hand. I've seen at least as many reports of problems with Sandisk and Lexar. Sh!t happens. It could happen to any brand. Sandisk is a good brand. So is Transcend.

Personally I would not go anywhere near Lexar.....

I've been using the Kingston Pro cards for three years very happy with the 4 and 8 gig although when in high speed the 8 gig slows the buffer. Great price and solid performance.
