EOSinfo shutter count

Just read a post on how to read a shutter counts and thought I woud give it a go to see if my 50D had been reset at any time.

EOS info showed my camera at 7299 clicks
but the last picture I have taken shows the file number at 100-9883

so how is there a discrepency in the shutter count to the file number??

If you ever put a memory card into the camera that had pictures taken on another Canon on it that can change the file numbering. I found this out sharing cards between my EOS 400D and Powershot A75.

How were you able to get the clicks, I thought that Canon kept that pretty close to their chest, unlike Nikon? I would be very keen to see how much I've killed some of my cameras LOL.

When I upload an image to flickr from my 1DsII, on the exif page there's a line called 'Image Number.'
This may be the shutter count, if anyone knows for sure please verify either way
