Leaving at about 9am today, I packed my 40D and nifty fifty into the rear pannier and headed out for my first off-road ride ever... Very much an on-road cyclist, this was a little daunting as I had no idea what I was letting myself in for. All I had was my handlebar mounted GPS and a route that I'd downloaded somewhere on the internet. The off road bit was supposed to be around 37 kilometers, but I knew there were 25-kilometers to get to the start of this trail and another 25 back - so about 87 kilometers or around 55-miles. Since I was used to doing around 70-80 miles on my road bike, I thought this would be sufficient.
Well, after getting lost several times (probably because I kept seeing cool looking trails and going off course) I finally made it back home after riding for around 4-5 hours. I'm totally knackered, but I managed to squeeze off a few shots of the countryside. Hope the odd non-landscape is OK for this sub forum. Mods, please move if it isn't. C&C welcome.
