One of my printers is an Epson R360.

I've recently installed Windows 7 on my computers and have gone on to Epson's website to download new drivers.

First of all Epson identified my OS as Windows NT 4.0! Looking at the Windows 7 they offer two types of drivers for the 32bit version of Microsoft's OS. They are X64 and X86.

I'm confused! Which one of the drivers is right for me?

x86 it would seem...no idea why the 32bit is called x86 but I am assured that is the right one

X86 refers to the instruction set architecture from the Intel 8086 (actually a 16 bit processor) used in the old IBM PC

The 86 was kept even when the architecture moved to 32 bit with the 80386 processor and is traditionally used to describe 32 bit OS/ or software apps.
Nerd lecture over:)

Cheers everyone. Many thanks for your replies. Much appreciated.
