Yes
Or more likely I'm a numpty who's forgotten what he's doing.

Used my R2400 with the Mac for the first time tonight. I've used it successfully with my (ex) PC many times but it's been out of use for 6 months or so.

I changed all of the cartridges that said they needed changing, then cleaned, aligned etc.

I tried to print this picture, on both Epson and Ilford paper:

Print:

I'd let both the printer and Photoshop manage the colours with about the same result, the colour profile is Working RGB sRGBIEC61966-2.1

What am I missing?

Oh, when aligning the heads I couldn't get a single box without banding in it.

Nip over to Ian Lyons "Computer darkroom web site. He has a complete guide for setting up Epson printers on Macs.

Looks to me as you are using the wrong profile. You need to select the correct printer/paper profile, not sRGB, which is in fact a colour space.

You also need to set the printer to run in ICM mode with no colour correction. Not difficult. Just follow the steps on Ian web site

http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ps10_print/ps10_print_1.htm

It saves me a lot of typing plus he's got
screen shots

OK it's for CS3 but it's similar for CS4

the printer looks borked.
what does a test page look like?
all the colours are misaligned.Does it work okay on your missus' PC?

on the plus side..if your dog is into Andy Warhol, you're onto a winner :)

Well I stoked up the fire underneath an old PC with CS2 on it and the printer worked perfectly.

I tried to download the latest version of the Mac driver from Epson's website and now I'm left with 2 drivers installed and all the print management options blacked out.

Anyone know how to get rid of a printer completely from a Mac?
I need to start again.
:bang:

I had some problems with printers on my Mac.

I contacted Epson support and they suggested that I remove the Epson Folder from
Macintosh HD/Library/Printers/. Then install the latest driver from their web site

This I did and installed the latest driver, Hey presto it works.

Running 3 Epson printers D92 for documents etc, My trusty R300 for CD printing and other work, and 2880 for the really nice stuff. All 3 play nicely together, and even talk to my PC's on the network, via the Mac

The R300 and 2880 work in a colour managed work flow and give excellent print to screen match.

Hope you problems get solved. Setting up a printer to work on a Mac is straight forward, if you follow Ian workflow

Thanks Chappers.

Once I've stopped banging my head off the wall I'll try that.
