Been told by Calumet that it come with a set of ink in the box.
Do anyone as one and can confirmed this please.
 
I have only printed colour on it and I think it is excellent. Will be trying some B&W in the not too distant future.
 
I've mainly used my R3000 for colour but have managed to squeeze some B&W prints in as well and been very happy with the results. No problems at all so far and I've had it for a single month short of 2 years.

ad a look at the canon pro 1 but the ink is way to expensive at £270 for the set
 
Just bought one.

Doesn't trake much knowledge to know it comes with a full set of inks. And without having printed from it I KNOW it is a superb B&W printer..... I do own the R2400 which is now being retired.

Seriously thought about the R3880 which is only about £125 more (when you factor in the value of ink that you get).

I am purchasing with a Fotospeed CIS Kit (already had one with the R2400) and the inks are far cheaper than the original inks and print quality identical (perhaps even better)!

When I bought mine it wasn't made clear on any dealer's site that it did come with a set of inks. It was only after reading several reviews that I was sure that it did.

Anyone could give me advice on what paper to buy...
A3 format and very good quality for both colour and black and white.
I looked at the Ilford prestige silk gold but bit on the expensive side :(
 
Got mine from wex yesterday very easy to set up but it doesn't come with a usb cable which you need to first set up the WiFi connection. Very impressed with first test prints strait from Photoshop with no calibration. Going to get the cis system from Marrutt inks as I use their paper and used their system on my old R1900.

Im using a mix of papers but canson baryta photographique is very good for both colour and b&w.
 
Fotospeed & Permajet papers are nice and offer free custom priofiles (highly recommended).
 
Printer working perfectly but cannot figure out how to ad ICC profiles:(
i have a mac running 10.7.5 and trying to ad gold mono silk
help please

Agreed. I've used Fotospeed PF Satin, Gloss and Lustre and they all work very well with the R3000. The Platinum Baryta also gives good results.

I've also used Permajet Oyster which is quite nice and Ultra Pearl that maybe gives too much of a texture, I've still not decided.

Epson Premium Semi Gloss works well for me too, and it's relatively cheap. Epson Traditional Photo Paper is good, but pricey.

Ilford Galerie Prestige Smooth Pearl and Smooth Gloss also give nice prints, but out of all the papers I've used these two have the strongest smell. It's like a mild 'sick' odour, you need to be very close to the print but it's only these two I've really noticed it from.

Hahnemuhle photo rag pearl is very nice, and the reviews for it are really good. However I did a set of test prints of the same image on this, Permajet Oyster, Ultra Pearl, Fotosense PF Gloss, Lustre and Satin (I don't have A4 size of any of the others I've used). My wife picked the Fotospeed PF Lustre and Gloss as the best two. It was between the Hanhemuhle Photo Rag Pearl and PF Lustre for me, but I prefer semi gloss prints ans she prefers glossy. Overall though my favourite paper is the Canson I mentioned above but I only have it in A3+.

I have ordered the Canson baryta and it should arrived tomorrow :)

I'm not yet convinced by the Oyster Ultra Pearl either! I bought a box of 100 too a while back and still loads left!

THe Platinum Gloss and Platinum Lustre are superb although the PF ones are very good too.

Not tried the Canson. One to investigate once my paper supply has dried up a bit :)
