Epson V750 for Medium Format

Has anyone any experience in using an Epson V750 scanner with MF negatives.

  • Is the scanned negative able to produce a decent print up to 20x16
Do you really need to spend extra on the betterscanning holders

Flatbed scanners are better at MF than 35mm, and you will get good results from most decent scanners. I have the V750 but haven't had a 16X20 print done and the only way I could help is to bring up one of my scanned MF negs and see what it looks like on a computer screen at 16X20, not the same I know but if it helps....................

You might as well save some money and just get a straight V700 - in depth tests and comparisons of both have revealed that theres pretty much no difference between them except for getting the wet scanning kit with the V750. Both resolve identical resolutions (~2300 dpi), have the same approximate density and the same scanning speed.

ive got the v750 and some 20x16 prints from it. They look great. The only thing i did was get some glass from the local picture framer, its acid etched on one side to give a matte finish. Get it cut to the size of the film holders and it just keeps things nice and flat.

As mentioned above though its pretty much the same scanner as the 700 :)
