Hi there,

At present, I am studying for my second year of an Equine Studies BA (Hons) degree at Warwickshire College. As part of the four year degree I have a year ‘working in the industry’ due to commence in August/September 2009. And I am looking for a placement with a photographer.

I have a very keen interest in photography. I took it as an A level and achieved the highest grade in the class! I also have a very pleasing portfolio.

I have just purchased a new camera (a Nikon D40) and have managed to seal a deal with my college and now I am their "official-ish" event photographer!

I believe I could gain a lot of experience from working with a professional photographer, IS THERE ONE OUT THERE??!?!?!?!

Any advise will be greatly recieved!

Cheers!

I'm more than happy if you want to wander down Guildford way and I can take you around the polo club that I shoot for. Bit of a trek from Warwickshire though but the offer is there. Season starts later on in May.

I have a shoot at Solihull RC on 20th August as part of the BEF Futurity series and you are more than welcome to come along to that, drop me a line nearer the time if you're interested.

Colin,

Possibly a good moment to mention that you don't look exactly like your avatar ;)

Nice offer BTW

Yes I'm definately interested!!!
I just want to get cracking- All I've done so far on the equine front is photograph college competitions- it would be great to actually get out into the real world!

I have also just got my self a new camera - a Nikon D40 (as previously i was mainly doing dark room stuff using a Olympus!! ).... im just getting into the whole digital thing properly now- but I could do with some advise on which settings are the most ideal etc... I am also in the process of getting my hands on Photoshop- cant wait for that!!!

I am willing to travel anywhere for a job like this.

Anyways - thanks for the offer- keep me in mind! :)

can't help with assisting I'm afraid, but if you can get to the Royal Windsor Horse Show, it's fantastic for building a portfolio - the collecting rings for all three show rings are ground level and accessible to the public, I've had some fab closeups of Tim Stockdale & John Whittaker concentrating over practice jumps :D
