Not sure which forum this should ideally be in, so I've opted for this one.

This is likely an incredible long shot but as I am mulling swapping my D700 and D800 combo for a D3S I am going to ask anyway, nothing ventured nothing gained etc. :)

I am wondering if anyone in the Manchester area would be willing to let me borrow a D3S for a wedding I am the second shooter at in October (12th). In return, I would be willing to let the D3S owner take their pick of borrowing any of the items below for a weekend should they wish.

D700
D800
16-35/4
24-70/2.8
70-200/2.8(II)
20/2.8
50/1.8
85/1.8

I would be very hard pressed to say goodbye to the D800 because I absolutely love it for my primary passion; landscapes - so really need convincing before I say goodbye in order to get something arguable not as amazing for landscape, but much, much better for what actually results in (an albeit small amount of) monetary income; wedding work. I'd also be saying goodbye to two bodies and replacing them with one. The low light high ISO abilities of the D3S in a 12mp sensor package are what I'm really after. I do find I struggle handheld in low light with the D800 where I don't so much with the D700 even though I consider myself to have a very steady handheld technique.

Anyway, there it is. Thanks for reading.

Not to distract from your aim but have you tried a grip on the D800, I know when I had my dslr adding the grip helped me to stabilise things a bit for me.

I do have the grip, yep. I do actually find that helps as well and much prefer the ergonomics of a gripped body over a none gripped option.
