Hello all,

As all of my cameras up to this point have been film cameras which I have brought very cheaply I have never had any insurance, I am now about to move into the modern world with one of these new fangled filmless devices which although not super expensive compared to some peoples kit I think I still need to be insure against theft or accidental damage, can anyone recommend any companies ?

Thanks all.

If you have serious kit use a specialist insurer. Mine is insured with Eversure Ltd, https://www.eversure.com/camera/ they were the most competative. There are a few companies that specialise in camera equipment, Google it. I wouldnt rely on my home insurance in a zillion years, the cover is so restricted its rubbish.

I have heard good things about eversure. Think you get some kind of a discount with them if you go through LCE (I can't exactly remember the details).

That reminds me I need to insure my gear too actually....

I went with Eversure. Some home insurers can accommodate gear insurance and mine (Aviva) covers it in the house but the cover elsewhere is a little limited when I also have ipads, phone and other possessions with me.

Been with Eversure for a fair few years now. Not had to make a claim as yet but always found them competitive, I bundle PLI in with it too.
