I spoke to my insurance company today (Endsleigh) as my equipment wasn't actually insured except for specific trips.
That's now done, at great expense, and they said in the event of a claim I need to provide a receipt or written valuation within the last 5 years.
I was wondering, has anyone experience of how to get such written valuation? Preferably for free. I do have most receipts I think, but some of them aren't ideal - and in the case of simply electronics the items are actually grey imports I believe. Some of them cost < 2nd hand prices in LCE.
In addition, my non-L 70-300 was £313 on amazon, it's in near perfect condition but now sells for £366 there; except I'm sure a 2nd hand valuation wouldn't be much more than £300?
Oh and a helpful hint, it's significantly (20-30%) cheaper to insure lots of items at < £1k per item instead of a block of camera equipment at several thousand.
