Error 99 and bizarre colours

Hi

I have had the Error 99 message on my Canon 1000D, and have tried taking off lenses, battery, cleaning contacts etc.

Anyway, in between, i Can take the occasional photo, but they come out with colours almost black and white, but the odd purpley-pink hue.

It is still in Warranty, and shall be ringing Cameraworld on Monday, but is there anything that might help first???

Nope - take it back - why waste the effort if it's still in warranty...

If it's under warrenty, send it back and have it fixed

There's no question about it. Just return it under warranty and get it fixed. It clearly shouldn't be like this, so why put up with it?
