Class 57's were owned by Virgin who used them as rescue loco's and gave them the collective nickname Thunderbird (International Rescue) - with each loco named with reference to the TV series.

57316 was named FAB 1 - although the nameplates were removed and sold to charity after the demise of Virgin Trains.

Now owned by West Coast Railways and used for heritage tours.
