Hi guys..

Need some help here. I'm getting Err 01 on my 450D with lens kit. I was trying to take random pics when I noticed that I can't press the shutter and there's a blinking light at the right end of the viewfinder view. I was thinking that my room is too dark to focus anything so I changed a few settings but it's still the same. When I finally can press the shutter, I received the Err 01 on screen..

Can anyone tell me why it happens and how to make it go away?

Any help is appreciated.. T-T

I think that's a lens communication error on Canons - try taking the lens off, cleaning the contacts and putting it back on again

Yup, page 175 of your manual clearly says communication error between camera and lens and that you should clean the contacts. These are the contacts you can see on the back of you lens and just inside the camera body when the lens is removed. Clean them by gently rubbing with a pencil rubber (erasure for our American friends) but make sure none of the debris from the rubber falls into the camera body.
