i'm possibly going to the ace cafe tonight and some of the naughtier bikers do some pretty cool/amazing/dangerous stunts, i have a 350d with std 18-55 lens, any tips on capturing the action that may occur in lowlight conditions without using the flash?
cheers guys n gals

You're going to have to push the ISO up as high as you can, and use as low an aperture as possible. But I think it will still be difficult depending on how low the light is. I imagine the bikes will be going pretty quickly and you're going to need fast shutter speeds to freeze them. A flash might give better results? Do you have a flashgun?

no flash gun, most of the stunts will be slowish, the odd wheelie at 30-60 mph maybe. streetlights mainly of which i think there are a few.

I guess it really depends how bright the lights are. Just experiment with settings to keep your shutter speed up (High ISO, wide aperture). If you can't get a high enough shutter speed, you could practice panning, might get some cool shots and will give a sense of speed. I find it hard though.

Also shoot in raw you maybe able to boost the exposure in pp

i could shoot in raw but don't have the software to convert, only have early photoshop, i'll just have a play about i think, any action shots i get will be a bonus :)
