Hi guys,

Well i took into consideration your comments from my last post about my website design. I have been working on this all day, just finishing up..

I personally prefer it to my other website, i would like your professional opinion on it though.

I have tried to give it a basic design, with modern looks. I hope it works.

My New Site - PixelPost.

My Old Site - Wordpress.

Which one do you guys prefer and think is more professional.

Thank you.

I think I prefer the Wordpress one (but then that was my theme for a while too!), but it depends on the message you're trying to get across - is it a showcase to drive business to you, or a way of sharing with family and friends?

Fiar enough, it's a really lovely theme.. if i was going to start up a blog site i know ill go back to that theme.

Its just to share with my friends, family and people on forums.

The newer site doesn't look anything like a 'photographer's site' - you get the impression you've just stumbled onto a 'rate my picture' site as it doesn't seem to have any preamble where it simply takes you immediately to a rate picture task.

Also, if a picture had 0 votes I would disable the view of the rating score and 2) I wouldnt allow anyone to rate my pictures to begin with as they may 'down rate' based on a context you didnt take into account plus you get a knock on effect that if people give low marks the others start criticising your picture in that frame of mind.

Much better would to allow people to leave comments - as they will normally only be positive.

edited to add:

Apologies for sounding so negative but I'm not (really) - just giving an objective opinion. If it indeed is a rate my picture site then it's fine but I would probably hide ratings until enough votes give a good average of the metric.

Cheers mate for the feedback.

Does it work as a photography site without the rating system?

The rating has gone for good, it was annoying me. lol. Yeah im just allowing comments now, much easer.

No problem for sounding negative, i like to have criticim, how else do you learn.

I am trying to get a 'Post to Facebook' but im having some issues with that one atm.

Cheers again.

I am a fan of pixelpost I use a couple myself, your new site is nice neat simple and easy on the eye, but I really like your old wordpress site, in fact I have just downloaded wordpress and will have a tinker with it.

It's changed again! Liking the newer version - looks more professional than the smaller Pixel Post design, would put this as my favourite of the three you've showed us.

Ive attempted to use Pixelpost many times, i just couldn't be bothered to do all the editing, then uploading then editing again... But as ive got nothing much to do as college has finished i thought i might as well try it again. I much prefer Pixelpost.

Wordpress is nice, Im thinking about joining a photojernolism society when im at uni (i can join the weekly newspaper the uni does). So i will prob use it for that, but i just personally dont see it as a viable photo website.

I have uploaded a new template as i was told people were having trouble with the other one (my friends) So what do you think of it now? Does it look more like a photography website.

Thanks again.

It has, ive been having a fiddle, and talking to people about it and they said they were having trouble with the site, so i found this new template.

Im glad you like! :) i think i will settle with this template. But i wont bother adding the rating system again.

Thanks again.
