It is pretty, but very blue. You also have vignetting in the corners, I'm guessing from the lens hood.

I have had a play with it.

the vignetting is a problem that's only just occurring - investigating !

that's the effect i wanted - would you be so kind as to explain how it was done
step-by-step cos I've tried in Paint.NET to no avail
admittedly haven't spent a lot of time with the tutorials though

OK, I made a duplicate file, I then opened it as a raw in photoshop. I then used the warmth slider to get rid of the blue cast. I then took the original and put as a second layer over the duplicate, then simply deleted the foreground.
