Hello everyone,

I've recently been asked to cover an event that's larger than anything I've done previously, and need a website to set up primarily to showcase the photographs and potentially sell prints.

I have about a month before I'm due to turn up and shoot, and have limited budget, so I'm looking for something pre-built with an integrated ordering system.

I've had a look at Photium as this seems to meet the criteria. Any thoughts?

Any help is much appreciated!

If you've already got web hosting you could always set up a gallery2 install. Takes very little time and has an excellent cart/checkout feature.

Jalbum with one of the skins that has paypal ordering might do the trick, you just need to host it somewhere.

With Photium, your limited to the number of images you can have each package , so the standard package at £20 a month is 1000 photo, application like Jalbum and galley2 allow unlimited files ( I've 8500 in my Jalbum)

We have used Photoreflect for hosting about two years, it is around $9 (£6) per months with no limit to the Qty of images or Oty of events, they take 15% + 3% card payment charge per sale, which to some is a sticking point,

Web Software is free to download & speeds up the upload process,

However unless your sales exceed £1500 per annum it is the cheapest & best template based solution I've tried...

I believe it is windows only though,

Alan

photocart, while not cheap its a one off cost and there is no commision charge (exc paypals 3% on the transaction).

dump the files onto your webspace, follow the instructions for creating the database, create the galleries and FTP up the photos. simples.

Zenfolio works really well, covers hosting and very simple interface.

If you want something quick simple and professional looking i can recommend it.
