Ever just get 'that' feeling?

'That' as in 'I just can't get the shot'

I spent the whole weekend from Friday to Monday at the local bike races and must have fired off nearly 2000 shots, and after filtering through them, there's not one that stands out as a good shot. OK, a few are passable as adequate, sharp or even good, but none have that 'WOW' factor. A few good heat-haze shots and even a few flamers, but none that would make me think, 'that's the one for me'. I find that a lot on my pics are repetative and lacking a certain something to make them stand-out against the rest. I think a flick through a few magazines to see how/what people are shooting and see if I can replicate it.

Ever get that, 'I can't be bothered any more' feeling?

Hi Yes I think we all get that feeling now and again post a few pic's up they might not be as bad as you think, plus some one might just give you that one piece of advice that brings it all together :)

The fact you took 2000 images might be a sign that you are firing off non-stop with the hope you'll catch a good shot instead of sitting back and watching and planning for the shot you have in your mind. Just a thought.

Perhaps you should try going along with a film camera or at least work as if you had a limited number of shots to use. That way you might find you look harder for the shot instead of hoping to get lucky.

Yes - I drove the 60 miles to the bike racing at Knockhill but after just one hour I realised that my heart wasn't in it and I came home - 28 photographs and 22 of those were from a charity run round the circuit before the racing started.

Kinda how I felt all weekend, but I couldn't leave. I help out a mate that races so I was committed to stay.

If it makes you any happier too, some were with a 70-300VR ;) (the rest were 70-200 2.8 Tamron)
