Never really been into the whole macro thing but you might have just convinced me otherwise! ;)

detail on the 1st pic is awesome!

Thanks. It was a lot of fun but hard work too. Wait and see what the rest put up when they get back. Mine will look terrible in comparison.

Hey lee, you found some great critters there Mate, digging that 1st Bee shot and great eye detail too (y) Great day I think apart from the lunch time queue.

Excellent shots all. Was a great day out and good to put faces to names.

Alby, love that first crab spider shot, its a great composition. How do you like the light in these? Im just downloading mine and will post a few up soon, took me over 3.5hrs to get back grrrr :)

Alistair, that green beetle looks like Malachius bipustulatus the Common malachite beetle. great colour on it.

Some great shots there people ...looks like you had a good day out with plenty of subjects. (y)

The quality of the shots on this thread is absolutely amazing. Well done everyone :clap:

I have to agree................bloody brilliant effort everyone:clap::clap::clap::clap:

It was a brilliant day - thanks to everyone for making us welcome. The photos that have been posted are amazing. I was disappointed with mine but learnt lesson number 1 - practice, practice and more practice! I picked up a few tips and would appreciate some further advice. The first thing that I need to get is a flash. I am thinking of perhaps the Nikon R1. Please can I have your advice, for/against/alternatives? Is there one that is good for macro but versatile for other types of photography? (Yes, I can hear you all saying - is there any other type??) I have posted this on A few from Exbury Gardens as well in the hope that some of you will read it on one or the other.
Roy
