If you double click on a file it opens using the default run option. For images this tends to be PREVIEW. To open with a different application right click on the file and you will get a menu, the second option is OPEN WITH select this, move over the arrow and select PREVIEW.

You can change the default for a specific file or file type using INFO. For information on how to do that look in my signature again for the MAC TOP TIPS and look there as I explain it in detail (its tip 24 of 367). Note that not all image files have EXIF data in them.

Darren, go to bed,its late.......

For Windoze you don't need any special software. Just right click on the file, click on "Properties", click on the "Summary" tab and click "Advanced>>".
Works in XP, Vista and 7, don't know about older versions.

I was just about to say that the programs above give no more info (bar some camera info) than I can already see by using the XP properties anyway, unless there's something I am missing?

But does XP properties allow you to see the EXIF of a picture in a browser?

No, but I have never been that nosey to be honest. If I need that info why not ask the photographer... and if they don't want me to know they can tell me!
