Yes
Does anyone here have any experience of the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 DG?

I am looking at one as an alternative to the Canon, reviews seem okay but I was after some real world experience. I have the 18-50 f2.8 DC on my 40D and am pleased with that.

Cheers,
Andy

I have one and the canon version!

Performance wise it seems near enough as sharp as the canon and colours etc are good. 82mm filter thread is a hassle but i put a stepdown ring on and didnt notice and vignette on my 1ds

Im selling the sigma and my main reasons for keeping the canon are that its weather sealed and the focus on the canon seems to track faster moving subjects at close range, i shoot a bit of Mountain biking so this is important to me.

I found the sigma grand for the year or more that i used it. Af seems spot on for slower moving objects or where you have a bit of distance to play with, maybe its just not quick enough???, the zoom ring can give a hassle with the bushings breaking down, They can be had for less than £5 and are handy enough fitted if your ok stripping lenses, just fitted a new set to mine and its good as new again :)
