Hiya

I've realised I don't know the difference between altering the levels in lightroom by dragging the histogram and changing the exposure slider.

Please could anyone explain the differences if any?

Thanks

Phil

Doesn't the exposure change the overall exposure of the image while the levels allow you to modify individual elements of the image (highlights, shadows, colours)?

I think he means clicking and dragging on the histogram rather than the exposure slider.

Phil, if you hover over the histogram, underneath it will say Blacks, Fill Light, Exposure and Recovery depending on where you place it. If you click and drag, you'll see the relevant sliders move so the only difference is where you click and drag.

Fantastic - exactly the advice I needed - many thanks!
