Experimenting with small DOF

Just had a go last night with different things quite pleased with the results, although some aren't quite focused perfectly i am still getting used to the manual focus
C+C welcomed!

The second and allmost the fourth one look as if you caught what you were aiming for

Good efforts, i'm finding it very tricky with manual, as when I focus through the viewfinder on the area i want in focus take the shot and its not quite got it in focus. I think I need to calibrate the viewfinder with the little wheel.

thats probably the most likely cause, i done the same thing a few days ago when i got mine lol

I usually use the LCD screen when i do shots like these, only use the view finer when i get glare on the screen but yeh focusing the view finder

Liveview would be a great help sadly don't have it, here's some i took though its quite easy inside with no wind and a stationery subject.
