I was just idly browsing and found this - which was news to me...
film - Expired film - Soper Photographic
Camera shop, Plymouth. We buy and sell all types of film cameraswww.soperfectimages.co.uk
Russel Soper seems a good guy. I'm negotiating with him right now to P/X my MX!That's a new one on me. They've got some good kit.
What super 8 films are they?I got given an OM2n last week and with it were some "new" films with an expiry of 1995.
I'll let you all know in this forum how they turn out.
Also included in the kit was a Bell & Howell cine camera and 8 "new" Super 8 films.
I was amazed to find you can still buy them and they go for between £48 & £65!!!
From memory Kodak 40 or something. What super 8 films are they?
My reaction was I have no idea what you can do with Kodachrome these day, certainly not get it processed by Kodak.
Unfortunately as zx9 says, you can't get Kodachrome processed as colour anymore and processing it as b&w is a faff at best, also the resulting images are generally disappointing.
There's been a couple of guys that have managed it but its never really taken off as a business. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see it return but I'm not holding my breath,Cheers guys,
This guy's done it but no idea if he still does / whether it's worth the postage.
Kodachrome. Processed in Color. Seriously.
EDIT: Due to the high volume of responses, I need to stress that ShootFilmCo DOES NOT Process Kodachrome and that this article is about the person who does: Kelly-Shane Fuller, who can be contacted through these channels: Email: photo@piratelogy.com Piratelogy Studios (Facebook) *******...www.shootfilmco.com
This stuff's expiry was 1980 and wasn't kept in a freezer. There's been a couple of guys that have managed it but its never really taken off as a business. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see it return but I'm not holding my breath,
or defrosting the Kodachrome I have in the freezer just yet
I wouldn't waste your time.This stuff's expiry was 1980 and wasn't kept in a freezer.
God know how it would turn out.
I'm not rich enough to try it & see.
