300 4 IS, put a Sigma 1.4 EX DG, if set to AI, AF servo somtimes it jumps around primarly left to right and vice versa (hunting) if set MF it does not occur.
Turn IS off it does not happen.
When pressing the shutter you can see the image jump to the left whether MF or AF with IS on.

My thinking IS on is causing a problem in as much as compatibilty ?

Have cleaned the contacts on the convertor.

Would I experience same issues with a Canon ?

When you say 'it' jumps around to the left and right, what exactly are you referring to? If it's just the image, then that's normal when the IS kicks in, it'll take a moment to stabilise. It's probably more obvious with the teleconverter on.

Setting it to MF shouldn't make any difference though.... Or have I misinterpreted?

Thank you very much for replying.
Been in the garden this morning and a bit more testing, as this was only happening in AIservo mode needed to check a few things out, result is me! addressed my holding, breathing and shutter technique and result no problems.

Basically it could not hold focus on desired spot because of movement.
