Extension tubes or Macro Lens?

Hi, for a change I fancy taking some images of single flowers. I have a full frame and a 1.6 crop camera/s along with a choice of lenses from the 85mm, 50mm, 24-70mm & 70-200mm so I need some advice on what path to go down? The extension tubes that I see on Ebay with elec contacts for A/F or invest in a dedicated lens like the 100mm. Not really wanting to go macro just to have a go at the individual flower head for printing onto A3 paper.
Also looking for recomendations for an up to date publication on the subject of flower photography that includes using a flash for additional light.
Thanks
Russ

Hi, Thank you for the quick response. After posting did a search and found a lot of info in the General Section forum here under the macro and close up thread.
