Extension Tubes Stuck on Lens

Hi,
I bought some extension tubes from ebay - yes £7.99 however I now can't get them off the lens. Is there a trick to this ? Or have I really just f*cked up.

Canon 550D Tamron 28-300 lens

hi i think the button goes in what you would call the wrong direction give it a go mike.
just checked it pulls towards the camera hth

Thanks Mike, there wasn't a button and no way I could see to get it off the lens. I used 2 small screwdrivers to open the 2 lugs that hold the lens on the EF fitting and got it off. Off to the bin with the tubes!!
 
got mine stuck ...took it to the local camera shop made me look a right plonker when he said "your pushing it the wrong way" doh. just bought a 105mm 2.8 love it hav'nt used the tubes for ages. pita

Sadly I've heard this before with ebay cheapies....the last guy had to resort to a hacksaw :thumbsdown:
