Extension tubes

Hello. Im looking at buying some extension tubes to have ago at macro photography. I am aware there is no glass element in them so it is not vitally important to get the top end/most expensive ones. However I have seen some for £5/£10 but is this too cheap?

The cheaper ones will only be effective if your lens has an aperture ring.

Yeah. Ive just seen a video and it mentioned very cheap ones don't have rods meaning you cannot change the aperture unless the lens enables you too.

Decisions! I bought cokin filter holders/adaptor ring but I just need the slides. Both the slides and the extension tube as well as the 50mm f1.8 lens I want are all around £50 each lol. I need to get my old 400D with the 18-55mm kit lens sold!

Give it a while, the more kit you get the more expensive the stuff you start to want is. I will second the extension tubes though, definitely get the ones with the af contacts.

I got a set of nd and grad nd filters to let me try more landscape stuff this year and now need to get a decent tripod and head to use them with.:bang:
