What am I missing here.
Yesterday I bought a 2TB seagate external hard drive, formatted it to ExFat, I have taking half hours worth of video off iPad, and three thousand photo, I checked storage which went down to 4:7 GB from 5GB.
I have transferred another thousand photos, I checked storage and it’s gone back up to5GB.
 
Are the photos being reloaded from iCloud?

How are you transferring from the iPad to the HDD?

I have hard drive and power connected to an adapter, from photos in iPad highlighting photos to be transferred, going into files and transferring, they have all been transferred as checked.
Not sure what you mean reloaded.
