Having now realised the limited use of my Jessops 360AFD in terms of remote firing from my 7D, I'm not sure which way to go with regards to lighting........
Before getting my 7D I did consider getting a cheap home studio kit (£200-£300) but on reflection it's not something that I'm going to use very often, plus storage in my flat could also be an issue
Knowing the 360AFD could act as a slave I though my problems were (partially solved) and I had more options for lighting indoor/home portraits but that's not really the case as there's no eTTL and it can be tempremental.
So would I be better off getting a Nissin Di866, which from what I read can be triggered remotely and with eTTL-II like the speedlite 580 and between that and my Jessops flash I should be able to cover most home portraits that might come my way (these are usually only for friends and family).
I have a GF lightsphere and a stofen diffuser so as well as bouncing light I can also diffuse both units it where necessary.
Have to say that using my Jessops flash on the camera with the lightsphere, in normal/"reportage" conditions I'm happy with the results, it's just when I have to do more formal stuff the lighting starts to let me down.
