Has anyone used the above card on an Ad-Hoc connection?

I am thinking of getting one of these memory cards to use in my remote camera that sits behind the goal at football matches. It would be nice to have the ad-hoc connection transmit the images to my laptop 'live' rather than have to wait until half-time.

Would be interested to hear if anyone has used the card and what their experiences were

I know of a lot of event photographers who use eyfi cards with varying results. Distance is one of the issues as the signal can be lost. I have used one of these no further than a few yards and found the signal kept dropping but others have had better results. It can sometimes be a case of "other things" interfering with the signal too!

Nikon users seem to suffer more as they have to convert the adaptor for the card to fit where as Canon users have multi memory slots with no similar problems.

Using ad hoc transfer gives the slowest transfer rate at only 11mbps. To increase the transfer speed you would need a router or access point. This would give 54mbps.

Thanks Graham. The signal was my main concern, with several other cameras behind the goal all using PW's or some other type of trigger i thought i may be seriously affected. Also my thinking is that if it was a serious benefit then i guess there would be more pro's using them at games.
