hi all dont know if this has been asked before but ,with me getting a little older,and the eyes starting to go a bit(and christmas coming) ,i was just wondering what the magnification eye pieces were like,never seen one and just wondering if they were any good and if they worked any suggestions or recommendations guys thanks nikon 7100 by the way cheers

I's also be interested in any users thoughts on these. (seeing as I'm passing middle-age too! :( )
 
I have a Nikon DK17M eyepiece fitted on my D700, and I love it.
It really does help my middle aged eyes when manually focussing.
I thought I would try it rather than fitting a different focussing screen, and it works very well.
If I were to buy a DX camera, I would definitely buy one for it.
 
thanks for that ghp was thinking more with one that has like a rubber tunnel round it it that makes sense to block the light out as well on a sunny day thanks
 
Yes, I have the DK-19 rubber eyecup with it, so it blocks out stray light.
I have the round rubber eyecup, rather than the "teardrop" shaped one, as I can't get on with the latter when rotating the camera from horizontal to vertical.
 
I also have the DK17M and DK19, really makes a difference and I wouldn't be without mine.

and do i need an adapter to fit the dk17m to a d7100 cheers,dont know if it fits the 7100

I don't think they will go straight on as D7100 is a square eyepiece is it not?

anyone tried using and the doing the following


itemsDK-22 adapter
DK-17M magnifier
DK-19 Rubber Eyecup

The DK-22 has 19mm threading. DK-17M is 22mm. So it wont be a direct fit. What you'll need to do is shave some of DK-22's innards down so that it can fit the DK-17M.

Get one ordered mate, I'm sure it will be worth a £5 hit if you don't get on with it to try it out, let us know as i'm interested in them but just purchased a Hoodman hoodeye for my D7000 and can't justify £30 atm
 
Should have the 3 separate items today after a spot of diy will let you know if its possible to convert the dk17m to fit the d7100
