@Barney Do you have a rough idea of how many due to attend? I'm prepping the free film I'm bringing for attendees so want to ensure I bring enough for folks but that any excess doesn't cook in the car!

This is a good idea and maybe indicate likely camera gear, that way if someone has something that might be of interest to others they can seek them out :)

I'll start (maybe everyone who is hopeful of attending can just add to the list) (@auntiemaryscanary if the free film is 35mm then I'll pass!! (thanks))

David (ake Mr Perceptive) - MF Rangefinder (either Plaubel Makina 670 or Fuji GM670) and Rolleiflex 2.8E (if I'm feeling particularly manly, I might bring the Fuji GX680, but the weather and its weight are pretty much against that!)

There will be a small amount of 120 in b&w and an even smaller amount of 120 C41. The majority will be 35mm being a mixture of bulk loaded and factory rolled.

Edit: Again a small amount of 35mm C41.

Myles (auntiemaryscanary). An EOS something, a Minolta P&S, Chroma Click and a Mamiya C3.

Possibly a Mamiya Press (I have 2 6x9 backs if someone wants a go and you want to carry it!). Either a Minox or a Minolta 16 and if I get a spool 3d printed a Hit-type camera.

If anyone wants a short roll to try out the Click (or any 35mm camera) let me know. I have a couple of DX stickers for 100 ISO that can be used. Likewise if anyone wants me to bring a plywood factory made 4x5 pinhole then shout up but you'll need to supply your own film/positive paper.

I'm expecting to be there, but already have films. No d&p for me unfortunately.

I hope you all have a good time tomorrow, as per earlier post, I won't be there as we are going to Goodwood FOS.

That is something I have been planning to make myself, if you have any pictures of the camera or a link to it I would be interested to see them, especially how you fit the DDS.

Thank you, have fun in the sun.

I was intending to go to this but weather looks far too hot for me unfortunately.
Likewise I'm unfortunately going to have to cry off. I've just done the family shop in the wife's air conditioned car and that has wiped me out. I know I won't be able to manage the 2 x 2 hours drive in my non- aircon car plus walk rounding the outdoor museum.

Apologies, I was really looking forward to it. I'll contact those that do attend to see if they want any of the free film I'd planned to bring with me.

So who is still planning to go - do we need a postponement?

Just been for a 15min walk in local countryside. In direct sun it's almost unbearable, although in the shade it's not so bad.

I’m still planning to go, happy to give people a lift (air conditioned car!!) traveling down M6 (joining at J18) then M5

But if the concencus is to postpone, then so be it.

Postponing would suit me, coming back from Blackpool on Wednesday down M61 and my dashboard lit up like a disco, I suspect a wheel bearing/ ABS sensor but My mechanic is on holiday until Tuesday, I was going to borrow the wifes shopping car to get there, she is trying to get me down there on the bike but I cannot imagine walking round there in full bike kit, plus I don't know what security is like.

Up to the majority.

Ideally we want as many willing participants as possible.

3 hours each way rules me out in this heat, Sorry.

OK,

Thanks for your feedback everyone,

Meet postponed until Sat 1st August

I hope that suits everyone and folk who could not make it this weekend will be able to attend.

I am disappointed and apologies if anyone else is !

Thanks @Barney I can't make Sat 1st Aug as I'm going to a Porsche Event, but hopefully I can make another one in the future (please don't re-arrange any dates on my beahlf, as I'm stacked out in August with Motorsport events!!

Thanks Barney, sensible I think.

Unfortunately I'm on the family holiday for the re-arranged date. I hope you all have a great day.

Is there any interest in this Initiative?

What are the problems which put you off from attending ?

Wrong date, locations?

Give some feedback I am sure that we can work something out if we all put our heads together.

Or do you just not like me. :ROFLMAO:
It is a good idea but being in a camera club, we regularly organise photoshoots for our members or they arrange them among themselves. I went to a Tudor event last weekend and a butterfly farm a couple of days ago. If it was not for this heat, I would go to the Tewkesbury medieval festival this Sunday so plenty of other opportunities. Not all our trips are local as a trip to Berlin is being planned and a trip to photograph wildlife in Africa.

And the irony is that today isn't so fierce as yesterday, at least in the Cherwell valley.

I have just developed a film and am knackered from going up and down the stairs, it would have been awfull, for me, trying to walk round in this heat for four hours. I walked the Ingleton waterfall trail a month or two ago and it was only mid 20's and I thought that I was going to die.

I cut the grass here just after midday - needed a shower after, but that was to wash off the dust as much as anything.
