I created a Facebook account two days ago. I must confess to finding the page layout and navigation to be a bit of a mess.

I will only be using Facebook from my Desktop PC or Laptop.

Having logged in it is required, or at least advisable, to log out at the end of each session.

Does closing down the open Facebook window achieve logout or is some other process required.

I ask this because I cannot find a logout icon upon which to click. Nor can I find help on Google.

Advice appreciated.

I never log out, not really necessary.
The log out option is in the settings (down triangle) top right of screen, beside the bell icon.

The only time you need to log out is if using somebody else’s machine.

Ps take a look at the privacy settings and set them up correctly.

Link to a site I have used before.

Yip, I read that on Google, but I don't have the arrow.

However, thanks everyone. I'll get tutored up on the privacy settings and I note the need not to log out.

Facebook has taken on board criticism about privacy and you can change a lot of things in your options.
It can still seem to know too much though, especially using it on mobiles where they will have a good idea exactly where you are as well as everything else.
No worse than google or apple who most are reasonably OK with.
