Fading the edges of a photograph

Hello everyone.

Before I get started, I would just like to say that the pictures on display here are fantastic.
Something I can only dream about achieving.

I am hoping you can help me out with Jasc Paintshop Pro 8.
I am helping a friend to tidy up his website, and would like to start altering photographs that he uses on his site.

I would like to fade the edges away to match the white background of the webpage. I hope that explanation makes sense.
