Something has been not quite right with the AF on my 50mm 1.4 for a while now and of course taking it with me on holiday the fault has worsened to to point where I didn't use it. Currently it will auto focus onto something closer than it was already set to but will not move to something further away.
Had a bit of a google search and it seem focus issues are a fairly common fault with this lens.
Found this site with a diy fix nicely described and I'm tempted
Anyone tried a diy repair? Alternatively any guess as to a repair cost?
My hoya CPL came apart on me on the last day when I was trying to persuade it to unscrew from the lens but I've just managed to get the circlip back in position now so it rotates again. Apart from the camera related irritations it was a good holiday
